It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has accomplished all there is.

It needed until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Ultimately, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a chance to deliver her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her debut and seven international trophies have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not fail again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Some will argue the case for the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was far harder to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this knock was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it has been a frustrating experience because it seemed I've had no rhythm whatsoever," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts activate and you completely engage with the match."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her great strength - and a priceless quality in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from there Healy was in motion.

"The possibility to take the field and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

When she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we know we can do it."

These statements will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.
